Royal Wedding Celebrations
At Tregolls Manor Care Home in Truro eleven residents sat down to watch the wedding in a dining room decorated with bunting and miniature Union flags they had made themselves.
They watched with such close undivided attention that the West Briton was told – to be quiet when conducting an interview “…because some of us would like to hear the service”.
One elderly couple held hands all the way through the broadcast.
Carers at Tregolls manor dressed up party frocks and some of the residents wore red, white and blue to toast the couple with pink Champagne before lunch.
Resident Elaine Smith, 93, dressed in a stripy jumper of the UK’s colours, said “I think it’s nice to see such a young couple. They seem to fit well together and they do everything together”.
